1001 Arabian Nights Available on Kindle

ArabNightsKindleEl Paso Norte Press announced the release of 1001 Arabian Nights – The Complete Adventures of Sindbad, Aladdin and Ali Baba in Kindle format. This edition will be available for download on Amazon on 8/8/08, which according to the Chinese calendar, will be the luckiest day of the year.

1001 Arabian Nights is a beloved collection of folk tales and other stories. It is often known in English as Arabian Nights from the first English language edition, The Arabian Nights’ Entertainment.

When originally translated and compiled into French by Antoine Galland in 1704,  it was known as One Thousand and One Nights. This edition was 12 volumes and contained the first appearance of Aladdin and Ali Baba. Another edition was completed by Sir Richard Francis Burton, called One Thousand and One Nights, and ran to 2,000+ pages, with hundreds of stories and fables.

As the title suggests, this new special edition features the adventures of the most well-known heroes from Arabian Nights, including all seven voyages of Sindbad, the story of Aladdin and his magic lamp, and the tales of Ali Baba and the forty thieves.
